Ownership: SGIO was IAG's Western Australian brand. It moved to NRMA Insurance in 2022 (IAG announced that home, motor and leisure products would transition from 4 December 2022) and sgio.com.au now redirects to an NRMA Insurance page. The owner, Insurance Australia Group Limited, did not change.

SGIO was the brand that Insurance Australia Group (IAG) used for personal insurance in Western Australia. It is no longer sold as a separate brand. The SGIO website now forwards to an NRMA Insurance page, which states that SGIO made the move to NRMA Insurance in 2022 and that policyholders have since been changed over.

NRMA Insurance policies are issued by Insurance Australia Limited (ABN 11 000 016 722, AFSL 227681), a subsidiary of ASX-listed Insurance Australia Group Limited. The change was a rebrand inside the same group, not a sale to a new owner.

People who held SGIO cover are directed to NRMA Insurance for new quotes, policy questions and claims, and existing SGIO online account logins continue to work on the NRMA Insurance site. SGIC, the equivalent IAG brand in South Australia, made the same move at the same time. Other IAG brands include CGU, WFI and ROLLiN'.
