Ownership: SGIC was IAG's South Australian brand. It moved to NRMA Insurance in 2022 (IAG announced that SGIC CTP would transition in July 2022 and home, motor and leisure products from 4 December 2022) and sgic.com.au now redirects to an NRMA Insurance page. The owner, Insurance Australia Group Limited, did not change.

SGIC was the name Insurance Australia Group (IAG) traded under for personal insurance in South Australia. The brand has been retired. Visitors to the SGIC website are now sent to an NRMA Insurance page, which says SGIC made the move to NRMA Insurance in 2022 and that policyholders have been changed over since then.

NRMA Insurance policies are issued by Insurance Australia Limited (ABN 11 000 016 722, AFSL 227681), which is owned by ASX-listed Insurance Australia Group Limited. Because SGIC and NRMA Insurance were already part of the same group, the change was a rebrand and not a change of owner.

Former SGIC customers are directed to NRMA Insurance for quotes, policy enquiries and claims. SGIO, the matching IAG brand in Western Australia, was retired in the same way. IAG's remaining Australian brands include NRMA Insurance, CGU, WFI and ROLLiN'.
