Honey's website states that policies with a start or renewal date on or after 1 October 2026 are underwritten by Zurich Australian Insurance Limited, and policies with a start or renewal date before 1 October 2026 are underwritten by RACQ Insurance Limited (AFSL 233082); the change was announced by Zurich on 3 July 2026. RACQ Insurance itself was acquired by IAG, a deal reported as completed on 1 September 2025.
Honey Insurance is an Australian home insurance start-up founded in 2021. It sells homeowner, renter and landlord cover online and is known for supplying smart home sensors to customers. Honey Insurance Pty Ltd (ABN 52 643 672 628, AFSL 528244) administers the policies but is not the insurer.

Honey's website states that policies with a start or renewal date on or after 1 October 2026 are underwritten by Zurich Australian Insurance Limited (ABN 13 000 296 640, AFSL 232507). Policies that started or renewed before that date are underwritten by RACQ Insurance Limited, Honey's original underwriter.
Zurich announced the arrangement on 3 July 2026 and said it would also cover policies distributed through Bank of Queensland. Zurich separately issues travel insurance for brands such as Qantas, Kogan and Budget Direct.
