Insurance Directory Australia is an independent reference site. It explains who stands behind Australian insurance brands, lists the businesses licensed to arrange general insurance, and defines the terms used in policies.
What the site is
- A directory of general insurance licensees and their corporate authorised representatives, compiled from the public ASIC register and refreshed weekly.
- A set of brand pages showing which company underwrites each brand, with the sources used and the date checked.
- Plain guides to types of cover and to insurance in high-risk regions, and a glossary.
What the site is not
- It is not an insurer, a broker or a financial adviser, and it does not hold an Australian financial services licence.
- It does not sell insurance, give quotes, rank providers or recommend products.
- It is not affiliated with ASIC, APRA, AFCA or any insurer or broker listed.
Listings are not paid for
Businesses appear because they are on the ASIC register, not because they have paid or asked to be listed. If that ever changes for any part of the site, the page will say so.
